Inaugural law graduate recognized as a 鈥淟aw Student of the Year"

May 01, 2025

Randi Alt, a graduating 3L at the College of Law, has accomplished several firsts as a member of the law school鈥檚 inaugural class. As she prepares for graduation on May 2, she added one more to the list 鈥 the first student recognized in National Jurist magazine鈥檚 annual Law Students of the Year issue.

鈥淚t was an honor to be recognized by National Jurist, and to be nominated by my peers here at the College of Law,鈥 Alt said. 鈥淚 wouldn鈥檛 be where I am today if I hadn鈥檛 taken a chance as an inaugural student at the College of Law. I鈥檓 incredibly grateful for all the support from the entire JU Law community, from my fellow students to faculty and staff.鈥

Alt, who earned an honorable mention on the list, was among 10 law students nationally to be recognized this year. In her time at JU College of Law, Alt served as the inaugural editor of the 91成人AV Law Review publication, helped form the Mock Trial Team and competed in its first statewide tournament, and was instrumental in developing the bylaws and framework for the Student Bar Association.

Alt interned at the 4th Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office in 91成人AV before finishing her first year of law school. She then went on to serve as a judicial intern to the Honorable London Kite. The following summer, Randi took her talents north, interning at the Brooklyn District Attorney鈥檚 Office in New York City. This past semester, she interned with the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 1st Region.

She鈥檚 already accepted a full-time job at the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney, where she will begin following her graduation in May.

Always near the top of her class, Alt will graduate with cum laude honors from the College of Law. The inaugural class graduates Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at the Duval County Courthouse.
